A four hour bus trip north from El Calafate brought us to El Chalten, Argentina, the gateway to the Fitzroy range. Halfway between
El Calafate and El Chalten, we stopped at the historic (1916) La Leona Hotel for snacks.
We spent three days and two nights in El Chalten. It has a budding tourist industry - in a few years, it will probably look like Calafate! One night we ate at the cozy Microbrewery. Don't miss the empanadas.
