We visited Glacier National Park on a tour with Country Walkers.  Yes, it does cost more than going on your own, but if you haven't planned well in advance, you won't be able to get a reservation at the lodges during peak months.  Plus it's extremely convenient if you're not familar with the park, and our guides (Carolyn and Corrie) were fantastic.

We were generally pleased with the tour, but wish we had requested a photo stop for St. Mary Lake - one of the most photographed parts of the park, you'll otherwise only see it from the road.

Most importantly, we had no hot water for the two nights we spent at Glacier Park Lodge.  We were in room 513; no one else in our group had this problem, so it may be particular to this room.  They should have moved us, but did not.  Also, all of our rooms were in the annex (Great Northern Wing) rather than the main building (where we wonder if one would fare better.)

Since Country Walkers books Glacier Park Lodge three times each summer, we would expect them to be aware of problem rooms and not book them.  When we complained in our comments after the trip, their regional manager Christine Kolter did apologize, but then went on to say "should accommodations be a priority, we would be happy to help you choose your next tour based on this requirement".  This really irritated us as it implied that expecting hot water was not routine.
