Visiting National Parks

Visit the National Park Service for general information on planning a trip to any of the National Parks, including the Grand Canyon.

How To Book National Park Lodges

Xanterra (formerly Amfac) manages the lodges at both the North and South Rims of the Grand Canyon as well as the following other National Parks: Bryce Canyon, Death Valley, Everglades, Yellowstone, and Zion.  They take reservations up to one year in advance, and only a single night deposit is required for each reservation.

Descriptions of the different types of North Rim cabins (open May 15 - Oct 15).  You can only reserve the rim cabins (with views of the canyon) by phone at (888) 29-PARKS (297-2757).  To snag a rim cabin, you'll have to call at 7:00 a.m. MST sharp on the 1st of the month, a year in advance.  For example, they start taking reservations for Sept 2007 at 7:00 a.m. MST on Sept 1, 2006.

The same policy applies for canyon view rooms at El Tovar at the South Rim.  South Rim lodging descriptions
