We visited in October and stayed at the Fallsview Marriott where we had a room with a great view of the falls. The hotel was fine, and we especially loved watching the colored lights on the falls at night. |

The Horseshoe Falls are on the Canadian side where we spent most of our time - it's less junky than the American side. |

We did the Journey Behind the Falls which takes you up close and personal, then took a wet but fun ride on Maid of the Mist. |

The Bridal Falls are on the American side where we did the Cave of the Winds tour on Goat Island. |

We also visited the Butterfly Conservatory, home to thousands of the fluttering creatures! |

We ended our trip with a visit to the charming town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, known for its summer Shaw Theatre Festival, which we did not have a chance to attend. We stayed at the Oban Inn, and it was adequate but nothing special. We'd try something different next time, perhaps the Prince of Wales Hotel, where we had an excellent lunch. |
